Make a difference

Can you imagine how much better the world would be if most people believed it is better to give than to receive, and then acted on that belief? As cheesy as it may sound, love really does make the world a better place, and what better way to show love than by serving those around us?

Many of us in today's world have allowed ourselves and our families to become so busy--work, kids, school, ballet, soccer, piano lessons, shopping, movies, reality TV--that we aren't available to serve each other. That's sad.

We have a vision for a return to the old sense of neighborhood and community, where if a friend is sick you don't just facebook them three words of support, but you take them a meal or pick up their prescription. We want to encourage and empower others to make service a meaningful and regular part of their lives in both big and small ways.

You don't have to run a bake sale or organize a huge project to make a difference. You simply have to be conscience of the opportunities all around you to reach out and serve, and choose to seize those opportunities.

We are still a young charity, but over time we hope to provide a network of service success stories, with resources and ideas for how you and your family can volunteer-from an animal shelter to a charity 5k to a soup kitchen, to simply smiling at the lonely old woman at the grocery store. Small acts do make an impact. We'd love to have your help on our own projects, but we would be just as happy to learn about your contributions to other worthy causes.

We know you can make a difference.
